BIG BROTHERS MENTORING

The Big Brothers mentoring program provides boys and young men with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed between the mentor and the mentee, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee. The Big Brothers mentoring program usually requires two regularly scheduled outings a month of a few hours each and a minimum of a one year commitment.

BETWEEN GENERATIONS

This program seeks to integrate retirees into our Mentoring Program and Big Brothers Big Sisters group workshops. Independent Living elders are invited to participate in the various programs while mentoring our young people and sharing their knowledge. We also offer workshops in retirement homes where users receive visits from groups of children through ad hoc craft activities (knitting, singing, jewelry making, cake decorations, etc.).

COUPLE MENTORING PROGRAM

The  Couples Mentoring Program involves matching a volunteer mentor (Big Brothers and / or Big Sisters) and a youth who share common interests. The program accepts young people aged 6 to 17, mainly from single-parent families. Volunteer mentors are thus involved in the life of the young person for at least one year and will then serve as a positive role model in the latter’s life, helping him to reach his full potential.

BIG BUDDIES

This is a program designed to support Youths that are entering the adult world. By creating this new type of pairings, a responsible adult will have the opportunity to be present to meet the various needs that his young mentor may present.
